Hey Colleen, Great job on your microteaching. I know it's tough to teach a topic where everyone in your class already knows what it is! I liked they way we were able to get up an walk around as part of our exploration with examples and non-examples - very "Dr. Kraus" of you. However, I feel like some of the examples and non-examples were tough to understand how it made sense as a sentence, whether it be a metaphor or a simile. Other than that, I think this was a great way for students to explore, on their own, the differences between similes and metaphors.
Hi Colleen, Great Job with your lesson on simile and metaphor on Tuesday. I was going to say exactly what Sarah said, that it is difficult to teach a lesson when everyone knows what your talking about already, but hey, you did an excellent job anyway. I liked how much freedom your lesson has with choosing the examples for using similes and metaphors. Depending on the class and the students, you can use almost anything to make your point, movies, artists, songs, celebrities, etc. The students will have more fun, just like we did with the graduation example. Great job again! -Ryan
